About Viminda

Hello! My name is Viminda, and I am excited to offer myself as a candidate for the Sherrard School District School Board.

As a former special education teacher, current community educator, and passionate advocate, I have dedicated my career to supporting and uplifting individuals from all walks of life. My journey in education and advocacy began with service learning projects at my church, experiences that have shaped my work and continue to guide me today. I am deeply committed to educational equity and firmly believe that every child deserves access to a quality education that meets their unique needs.

Professionally, I serve as a community educator and advocate, helping connect individuals to the resources and opportunities that help them feel safe, valued, and supported. I use my voice to uplift communities and unite people around a common goal of fostering positive change.

In addition to my professional work, I am a proud parent of a Sherrard School District student, the president of the Sherrard Soccer Club and coach, a volunteer through Junior Achievement, and a leader for the Mercer County Saddle Teens 4-H Club. Volunteering and giving back are priorities in my life, as I aim to show up for my child, fellow students and their families, and our dedicated teachers and staff.

As a parent, I understand the hopes and concerns that come with raising children in today’s world. I am committed to ensuring that all students—regardless of their background or abilities—receive the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for considering me as a candidate. I look forward to the opportunity to serve our community and make a positive impact on our schools.
