Tigers Today Transforming Tomorrow

I believe in the Sherrard School District.

Its teachers. Its students.

Our community.

Priorities at a Glance

Fiscal Responsibility

I am deeply committed to ensuring that our district remains financially responsible and transparent. In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to carefully manage taxpayer dollars while providing our students with the best possible education.

I believe that being a good steward of our finances means making thoughtful, data-driven decisions that prioritize our students' needs, support our dedicated educators, and invest in the long-term health of our schools. This includes thoroughly evaluating budgets, cutting unnecessary costs, and ensuring every expenditure directly benefits our students’ success.

My goal is to maintain a balanced approach that ensures fiscal responsibility without compromising the quality of education. I will work to promote transparency in how funds are allocated, advocate for efficient use of resources, and explore new revenue streams to support our district's growth.

Together, we can ensure that our schools are financially sustainable and equipped to provide the best opportunities for every student.

Teacher and Staff Support

I firmly believe that our teachers and staff are the heart of our educational system. They work tirelessly every day to inspire, educate, and support our students, and it’s our responsibility to provide them with the resources, recognition, and support they deserve.

I am committed to ensuring that our teachers and staff have the professional development opportunities, tools, and compensation they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. This means investing in ongoing training, reducing unnecessary administrative burdens, and ensuring that classrooms are well-equipped for both teaching and learning.

We also need to create a culture of respect and appreciation for the hard work our educators and staff put in each day. I will advocate for better support systems for teachers, including mental health resources and peer collaboration opportunities, to prevent burnout and help them continue doing what they do best—educating our future leaders.

By prioritizing the well-being and professional growth of our teachers and staff, we directly enhance the learning environment for our students. Together, we can build a district where educators feel valued and supported, ultimately leading to greater success for everyone.

Student Achievement and Educational Equity

I am committed to ensuring that every student in our district, regardless of their background, has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in life. Our students’ potential is limitless, and it is our responsibility to provide them with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically and personally.

I will prioritize closing achievement gaps and making sure that every student receives the support they need to succeed. This includes advocating for targeted interventions, such as tutoring, mentorship, and access to extracurricular activities that foster both academic growth and personal development.

Educational equity means creating an environment where all students feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving their goals. I am committed to ensuring that every classroom is equipped with qualified teachers, that our curriculum is inclusive, and that no student is left behind due to barriers they cannot control.

Together, we can ensure that all students in our school district receive the fair, quality education they deserve—one that prepares them for a bright future, no matter their starting point.

School Safety and Mental Health

I believe that every student deserves to learn in an environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to their well-being. The safety of our students—both physical and emotional—must be a top priority for our district. It’s not enough to focus on academic achievement alone; we must ensure that our schools are spaces where students feel protected, valued, and supported.

I am committed to working on initiatives that strengthen both the physical security of our campuses and the mental health resources available to our students. This means ensuring that our schools are equipped with the proper safety measures, but also creating a culture of respect and inclusivity where bullying, discrimination, and harassment have no place.

Equally important is the mental health of our students. More and more young people are facing mental health challenges, from stress and anxiety to depression. It is crucial that we expand access to counselors, mental health professionals, and programs that support students in managing their emotional well-being. We must also provide teachers and staff with the training to identify and respond to students in need of support.

I believe that when students feel safe, supported, and understood, they can focus on learning and grow into resilient individuals. Together, we can build a school culture that prioritizes mental health and safety so every student can succeed.
